Problematic Pope Denounces further Religions

Ratzinger seems to have weak relationship with Religion
In recent years, he has upset many Jews with a statement in 1987 and 2000 that Jewish history and scripture reached fulfillment only in Christ, a position denounced as “theological anti-Semitism” (1). In 1997, with his focus on Europe, Ratzinger said that individuals involved to Buddhism were actually seeking an "auto-erotic spirituality" that offers "transcendence without imposing concrete religious obligations." Ratzinger predicted that Buddhism would replace Marxism as the Catholic Church’s main enemy. He continued saying Hinduism offers "false hope," in that it guarantees "purification" based on a "morally cruel" concept of reincarnation resembling "a continuous circle of hell" (2).
This is a far cry from the Last Catholic Pope, Pope John Paul the II, who repected other religiouns and culture. He saw other belife structures not as weakness but in the same, equal moral pursuite. Faith is not an enemy it is a common hold for all people, from nihilistic atheist to conservitive Theravada Buhdist.

well, i suppose a measure of one's life can be the nauture and number of his enemies. I am flattered that the new patriarch of the catholic church has chosen humble Buddhists like me to be the next Great Enemy. Gee, and just think of the shit-fit he'll have when he finds out that I'm Asian (that is, not a white guy), and an out Queer too (which is to say, I'm not a catholic priest waiting for my alter boys after mass to polish my sheperds crook). Hehehehehehe. Cheers to you Goblin King.
