Name

The name that was given to Female
Sappho: (612 B.C.) an influential poet of Greece. In her poetry she remarks on the love of her female fellowships, which inspired some of the greatest lyrichs in human history. She was born on the Greek island of Lesbos, from which is derived. At the instigation of Pope Gregory Nazianzen, Christians burned most of her writings in 380 AD. In 1073 a 2nd book Burning by Pope Gregory VII may have destroyed what remained of her works. Today she is preserved only in fragments, as citations in works of classical scholars and on strips of papyrus found in Egypt. Her talent was too great to forget and too impossible to completely destroy because it flourished beyond regions and in the minds of intellects and scholars in a multitude too great to just slash and burn.
Now a name for Males
Spartans: (800-500 BC) Spartiates, from Sparta, Greece. It had the greatest army in the region and theirs was a worrier culture. They are responsible from many genius army formations and intellectual tactics that are still used today (one example would be forming a boxes of shields by putting their square shields side by side concealing the front, sides and top from enemy fire and shooting arrows out of choreographed slits while marching forward to the target, seen in the ‘Gladiator’) The Spartan was essentially a soldier, trained for endurance. In this culture weakness was not tolerated, shortly after birth the child was left out in the wilderness to survive and brought before the elders, who decided whether it was to be reared: if defective, it was dropped off a cliff. Thus was secured the maintenance of a high standard of physical efficiency. At the age of seven regiments were enforced to prepare the young men for becoming worriers. This training consisted for the most part in physical exercises, sparing, wrestling and dancing. Spartans had a reputation of being "laconic", or to the point. Education was also extended to s. Both es exercised . Spartans ruled the athletic Olympic, and their men were very successful. From 650 to 620 Sparta brought Messenia the greek region under its control. It was against the backdrop of the Messenian war and the following defeats that the unique Spartan way of life developed, winning the out numbered battle of Marathon, in 404 and defiting Greece in the Peloponnesian Civil War made Sparta famous in the hellenic or Greek world until the present day. In the militatary male affections were enchouraged, understanding the strength derived when fighting by your companion’s side. This uality invoked strength, power and unity for solders. They achieved inner consistency, a compact unit, and military efficiency. There is no tyranny in Sparta and their battle phalanx is said to be undefeatable. Impacts of this system are fear and closing of the Spartan community towards other nations.
Titled:
This is an ode to the men and the strength derived from each other. The spartan aul history encompases both war and love and offers and well rounded view as soldure, companion, and respected lover. This culture proves as a direct contradiction to the currently inadequate view, which I have known to be false and inadequately represented. The island of Lesbos offered an ideal mental oasis for thought, poetic expression and beauty and central period developing a specific term for females, s. Naturally, I felt the male title came from Spartans with mental might and and physical attraction. Sparta is that of strength in battle and in relationship. This offers a tough and true heritage for male attraction. The might of their love through the grueling test of war shows the up most power and compatibility. I am not mentally delinquent, a mere fad, an oddity, nor the spite of god, rather I am a modern warrior of sorts, I am a fighter, I am strong, I am prevailing, and I hope to be a fearless lover- I choose to take my title from Sparta.

An inserestin proposition

I have great reservation on such common house terms for describing individual's sexual characteristics in our culture. Not too long ago I wrote a story on aids testing and in doing so I signed up to receive a test for HIV to understand the process and sympathize with the individual. Part of the visit was a question answer segment in which I had to reply the question of my sexuality on paper, for medical record and as testimony for the councilor. previously I came to terms with my sexual identity by saying I was 'bi' (and in some aspects I am, as well as the most other men) it was much easier to accept this load with out many of the connotations that went with male attraction. I used the 'bi' identity though the later years of high school and early years of college, but it soon faded away, undiscussed. My active interest was in males. I dated twice, both bi like me and both not honest with themselves like me and it was an obvious, irritating lie but denial is the most powerful thing. before i was called into the office my term 'bi' was archaic and had gone unused by me for quite a while. all my friends knew me and my history but there was no term used other than "my attraction." As I sat in the office I had to accept a term and my mind became violent. my statement would be the first written and recorded as my sexuality. deeply i knew what was true and that I no longer went by: bi. against my inner longing, I uttered the one word "homosexual." It is a cold word, saying actually gave me shock for the first time since 7th grade. I choked on the word half way through in total pain of what I had admitted to be true. i have strong distaste for any term which exist to describe me and my friends.
Homosexual: Homosexualitat, a term coined in the industrial revolution during the age of scientific explanation developed by Karoly Maria Kertbeny (1824-82) this was the detached scientific term used for the mental disorder.
Gay: ironically meaning happy, this is a recent cultural phrase, uneducated slag, a simple fad with weak comprehension and strong over simplification. I feel my sexuality is stronger than just a fad slang term. I despise the public idiom with an uneducated view.
Queer: Becoming far more acceptable this term means, weird, unusual, incorrect. this still carries the stigma of bigotry, it is like other cruel terms like Faggot.
Sodomiser: Sodomy, Truly one who sod the grass. this is a religous term originating from the biblical cities of Sodom and Gomorra, the cities where the spited by God and destroyed due to the sin.
This term lead me to my Proposition:
on campus there is a Gay and Lesbian organization. i noticed though that the term gay doen't necessarily mean male, many females consider themselves gay. homosexual is also unisex term for both male and females. there seems to be a positive name for men like me.
Lesbian: the term comes from Sappho of Lesbos
Naturally their should be a male term, i suggest Spartan
still continuing.

Afghanistan and Sexuality

It is just an interesting idea of a spartan society in Afghanistan, contry synonymous with strong religious restrictions and strict societal views. This kind of view throws one's world understanding in a loop. we are not over them... but rather at the same cross roads now. It also make one wonder how truly civilized our own culture is, more so, how socially advanced we think we are as opposed to what we actually are. It appears peculiar to me that other cultures that have just recently obtained freedom after a restrictive regime rule are approximately in the same personal/cultural faction and line of thought as we are, which have slowly 'developed' over years of triumph. Considering we have decades of person right expressions and cultural movements ahead of them that we still have not advanced as far was we should and development was an misapprehension of mere baby steps. These sexuality ideals might be basic and continuous in any culture including ours, (which is still at an infant state). Yet ours, however, we have only obtained the illusion of advancement (because we are, in many cases, on the same steps for freedom as these 'underdeveloped war torn' countries) rather than true invention and movement.

Malachy Prophecies

Earlier I had made a Reference to the Malachy Prophesy they are the predictions of an Irish saint which claim to count down each of the popes until the final pontiff, which has recently come to power, who would commence the rapture and would embody the anti-Christ. An 865 year old prophecy will shortly come true, or prove to be a fraud.
Who was Malachy (short notes):
St. Malachy was Ireland's leading reformer of Christianity in the 12th-century. He was the first native of Ireland to be canonized a saint, and was able to produce miracles, like healing the sick, levitation and clairvoyance. One of Malachy’s most important attributions are his prophesies. Early in 1139 he journeyed to Rome for the first time, visiting his friend St. Bernard at Clairvaux. There he was granted a petition by Pope Innocent II and was appointed legate for Ireland. After his return home St. Malachy, again, set out on a second journey to Rome in 1148. Soon after he arrived he became sick, and died on November 2nd, under the care of St. Bernard.
What was his Prophacy (short notes):
Malachy originally predicted each papal succession of every pope to the 111th pope, beginning with Pope Celestine II, the successor to Innocent II. Each pope was given a specific name that identifies one or two characteristics of each of the popes, until the final pope, who was said to be the false Vicar of Christ. The names were written in Latin and usually refer to a set of “mottos” or characteristics.
Recent events:
There is an unusual sense of urgency that pertains to this prophesy because there is a final pope, who brings the end known as Gloria Olivea or Glory of the Olives. Pope John Paul II was the 110th pope, meaning his successor could fulfill the aged prophesy. Recently, as much of the world is aware, Pope John Paul II has passed away and gave way to the 165th pope, Joseph Alois Ratzinger has now become the 111 pontiff on Malahcy’s list, the concluding pope.
Malachy Predicted a that would either come from the Order of the Benedictines are also known as the "Olivetans" or is likely to have some reference to the name Benedict. Look into it, it is an interesting prediction.
Do I belive it?
Of course not. From a theological stand point i dont belive in many predictions, including this one. The extraordinary claim of the anti-Christ still lack the extraordinary evidence needed. The idea that the devil first obtained the power to create a human and then assume their form and consequently joined the church to control the church by becoming the Pope Benedict XVI, seen by a man ling ago seems not only unlikely and unreasoned but also absurd. Though not popular, many people would agree that the current pope is not the devil’s reincarnate showing the theory is largely deficient in conservativism. It makes far too many assumptions based on sketchy evidence and lacks both simplicity and scope for the unification of the theory. This is an age old prophecy that has the distinction of have a well documented past, but there is not enough reliable or indisputable evidence to support it’s claim and proven to be unfruitful. At first glance it does appear to be valid and precise until it is shown that the simple Latin names given to each pope allow for multiple meaning, confirmation bias and vagueness. When balancing the two theories it appears that calling Ratzinger the anti-Christ is to extreme and is not the best explanation.
Side note:
It is interesting to note that if you change the definition of anti-Christ it begins to change the balance of ceteris parabis. I find it highly unlikely that the devil could ever create life, an aptitude reserved for only God, and therefore I could not believe in the end of the world in the traditional terms. However, if you eliminate the far fetch idea that Satan could take human form and come to earth to take over and merely redefine anti-Christ as something more like opposite-Christ in that instead of inspiriting new ideas, joined people into a community to Shepard them and live as an example to others, one would instead fuse with old conservative ideals that could become harmful, cause a decline in the church population which would ultimately deteriorate the catholic frame work of community, and lack the life example to be the moral leader of the catholic church. One can see many opposites when comparing Jesus to the current hard-lining Pope. With the current world balance of things, such as tension between religions and politics, included Occam’s razor has a different out come. And with waning attendance because of his past and person Jihad’s being waged against the Leader of one billion people it is easy can see a lot of tension growing and a system falling apart, therefore Malachy might not be too far off.

Pope's relationship with Europe

Why the Pope reacting so drastically and appearing to be a religious bully?- to save Europe...
Joseph Ratzinger has focused lately on Europe, condemning what Vatican officials call "Christianophobia," a rejection of the continent's heritage. He has declared this stance by taking the name Benedict XVI, the saint who is responsible for founding the Benedictions which originally spread Christianity through out Europe. It is an interesting twist of fate and coincidence for the Malachy prophecy. But the European churches are now experiencing empty pews, due to public concern with the new pontiff due to his history. This has also caused a media frenzy in Europe, The Sun newspaper’s headline on its front page for Wednesday edition fallowing his election read: "From Hitler Youth to Papa Ratzi," and even the sober Daily Telegraph carried the title "'God's Rottweiler' is the new Pope." An even more stunning development are the approval numbers from Germany it self- it appears that the 'approval rating' for the pope in his home country have plummeted, show this nation is one of the most skeptical of the pope. The church now carries a major burden and might cause a dive in attendance or even a schism with liberal Europeans and global Catholics due to the pope’s present policies and past. this view can originally seem sympathetic to the pope's plight in Europe, however, this view is immensely Eurocentric. It almost appear that Europe is the great continent only worth saving. The pope lacks not only love and mutual respect for other religions and the people in them, but also other Countries or territories and the people in them. He is not a world leader but a white mans leader, ignoring the much greater faltering religious stability in Russia and other socialist or communist countries, over looking the plight in Africa and the hefty difficulties of missionaries' efforts and conversions in Africa, and the failures and unrevealed catholic faith in China's religious restrictive state. this view is a Eurocentric vain ineffective narrow and dangerous line of sight and not the view of a 'global chief' it is an ethnic hierarchy.

Problematic Pope Denounces further Religions

Ratzinger seems to have weak relationship with Religion
In recent years, he has upset many Jews with a statement in 1987 and 2000 that Jewish history and scripture reached fulfillment only in Christ, a position denounced as “theological anti-Semitism” (1). In 1997, with his focus on Europe, Ratzinger said that individuals involved to Buddhism were actually seeking an "auto-erotic spirituality" that offers "transcendence without imposing concrete religious obligations." Ratzinger predicted that Buddhism would replace Marxism as the Catholic Church’s main enemy. He continued saying Hinduism offers "false hope," in that it guarantees "purification" based on a "morally cruel" concept of reincarnation resembling "a continuous circle of hell" (2).
This is a far cry from the Last Catholic Pope, Pope John Paul the II, who repected other religiouns and culture. He saw other belife structures not as weakness but in the same, equal moral pursuite. Faith is not an enemy it is a common hold for all people, from nihilistic atheist to conservitive Theravada Buhdist.

Jihads Waged on Pope

Pope has no Fear of 'Offending Islam'
The new Pope has criticized Europe’s reluctance to acknowledge its Christian roots for fear of offending Islam’s rapidly spreading and influential presence in through out Europe. “What offends Islam,” remarked Ratzinger, “is the lack of reference to God, the arrogance of reason.” It appears that Europe could likely be “Islamic by the end of the century” said historian Bernard Lewis. The new Pope sees this as a grave danger to Europeans and he has called upon Europe to rediscover its Christian roots “if it truly wants to survive.” Many muslims felt betrayed by these coment and smaller more radical sects have declared personal and militant Jihads on the new pope. there is growing religous tension tangled across Europe's religous and political scene.

Crash & Star Wars

Crash
Awsome movie, this is a great idea that was correctly exicuted. Shocking and thilling for all the right reasons, good plot, good casting (surprise performance by Ludacris), beautiful imagy. but best of all its consept, a full on, up front face to racism from all angles and all people. a wealthy sandra bullok, affriad a minority locksmith, who is married to the DA, Brendan Frasier, whos car was rob by Luda' and fellow thug friend who feel they have to run from crooked, racist LAPD like Matt Dillion; All while the DA is involed with a crime and which starts the film. this is a definite see, either in the theaters or rent at home with good friends. this is a movie that should be approved of most everyone. it recivies five out of five star *****

Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith
The final chapter is complete, and there is something impressive and grand about that, yes, and this does deliver the much anticipated await for the completion of both mega trilogies. However, this movie was souly a 'connecter movie' merely ment for a flawless transaction from one to the other and seems to lack being much more. this was my least favorite of all the movie (maybe a tie with the second, only because the 2nd movie didnt deliver all that i could have with the clone wars but it still offered more excitement and curiosity) the movie is basic and is everything that would be expected of it... the Sith gained power, the jedi's were almost eliminated, Queen Amadala gave birth, and Anicon chooses the dark side and becomes Darth Vador (sorry to ruin it for you folks.) Although this is the first time the audience is finally able to see the iconic image of Darth reserected from the medicle table, and with his first breath send chill through your spine. that was real cool, it is also a great visual film, in the scence of imagry one of the better films. as always the special effects are not to be missed... however the movie did begin to rely on them far too much, the audience never sees a real back round or prop. also Yoda rocks. i give this movie three out of five stars *****

Why Sammy is Stupid

ic: sam, sorry cingular just cut off service to my at&t phone :`( tragic. well any who: three things: first the human brain is wired to find a mate (at any cost including friendships) it is made to and identify a partner, u will always judge those who are close to you weather it be justin or jace. second (and most important for you) just because u are sizing up some one for a mate does NOT mean that u have a crush... you need to learn this one-dam brain functio, u fall too easy. further more if u have a crush that doesnt mean love, and if u have love that doesn’t mean you have compatibility. yes he is an option but not a crush, (u love, yes, and for good reason.. philos love, he is more than a friend he is practically your brother) but he is not an ero tic se xy man beast ... "eww" like you said and showed you havent developed the eros or ero tic love with him... and you cant do that with a brother. so here is the bad new you will look at him as an option, and cant turn off that portion of the brian, but the good news it comes and goes, and you have a strong and durable friendship… don’t let it be so easily destroyed
